“Sóng ở Đáy Sông” (Waves at the Bottom of the River) is a Vietnamese TV drama based on the novel by Lê Lựu. Set in the 1960s in Hải Phòng, it follows the life of Núi, the son of a concubine in a wealthy family. Rejected by his father, Núi and his siblings face numerous hardships. As war breaks out, they are sent to their maternal grandparents. Núi’s life spirals into crime and imprisonment, but he eventually finds redemption through reconnecting with his past and loved ones.
