As a precaution, Mr. Liebtraut rigorously throws out any man who approaches his daughter. Even the subtle hints from neighbor Mrs. Seidenglanz don't help the obtuse father - and he also has his secrets. After many misunderstandings, the daughter finally meets Paula, her father's future wife, and daughter Elke no longer has to pass her Hanspeter off as an electrician.
